Sadio Mané jokes about leaving
Sadio Mané has jokingly said that he would leave Liverpool for Ligue 1 side Marseille if they were to pay up the money for his transfer.
Speaking on Pape Gueye’s Instagram live via GFFN, the Senegal captain was asked by his international teammate if he would join him at Marseille during their AFCON celebrations.
"Marseille, make an effort, put in the money and I’ll come! You have to pay the transfer and I’ll come!" Mané replied.
Liverpool wanted Fabio Carvalho at 14
Liverpool are expected to go back for Fulham starlet Fabio Carvalho in the summer having narrowly missed out on him in the January window, but it has been claimed that they first liked the look of him when he was just 14.
Greg Cruttwell, who helped Carvalho find a club when he moved from Portugal to England, has explained that Liverpool were one of the teams to make a move for him then.
"When it got to 14, first of all, Fulham had seen him then pretty much every club came calling — Man United, Chelsea, Arsenal, Liverpool," Cruttwell told the Daily Mirror.
"You know how it is with pro clubs — when one or two get a sniff of someone, everyone is immediately interested. They want to stop the other clubs getting the diamond in the rough, and Fabio is definitely that."
Lionel Messi made Liverpool demand
Barcelona decided that they could not sign Lionel Messi up to a new contract in the summer and so he left to sign for PSG, but reports in Spain now claim Liverpool were involved indirectly.
As well as the financial element of his contract, SER Catalunya, relayed by ESPN’s Jorge Ramos, have claimed that while Messi may have been willing to reduce his wage packet, he did also have other demands if he was to stay.
One of them was that Barcelona signed Sadio Mané, but after a swift conversation with Liverpool, it is said that the Reds demanded far too much money as a transfer fee.
Liverpool 'make contact' with Barcelona
Uruguayan centre-back Ronald Araújo could be available this summer should he not agree a new deal at Barcelona, with the 22-year-old's contract expiring in 2023.
Liverpool, according to Spanish outlet Sport, have 'made contact' about signing him, with the Reds said to be prepared to offer considerably more in wages than Barcelona can.
But like the last time this story popped up: Liverpool are well-stocked at centre-back, and even if they needed to sign another one, it would not be for €60m (£51m), which is Araújo's release clause.
